Winter Snowman with Artbooking

Did you love yesterday's little snowmen?  Well.. here's how I used one of the little beauties.
I used the Artbooking Cartridge for the die cut shapes and "wonderland" letters as well as the scalloped photo mat.  The "winter" was created using some fun self adhesive glitter letters that are retiring shortly (hint... buy them while you can!)
I also used some of the Slate mini medley and Ruby mini medley embellishment kits to add some dimension and sparkle to the layout.  Papers:  Ruby, White and Sky Cardstock, Sparkle and Shine polka dotted paper (Retired).  All the clickable links above will lead you to more information about the products.  It's hard to tell but there were a variety of colors of inks sponged on the blue and a few white snowflakes were stamped as well.

Want to win this one page layout?  Leave a comment!  One lucky person that comments by Friday at noon will be entered into a drawing.  I will mail this layout to the winner!

Snowman fun with Artbooking

I was playing one day with my Artbooking Cricut cartridge (click here to see all the shapes) and click here for pricing

I had seen a very cute snowman made from punches on pinterest (see end of this post)  and thought I could create something similar from the Close To My Heart Artbooking Cartridge...

This is what I came up with:  The snowman on the right is most similar to the pinterest snowman...
I made 3 different snowman sizes... just because I could... You can't do that with punches though!

I love the versatility of a die cutter... I really don't have time to sit and play with punches all day trying to find one that will work.  I like that all the snowman parts (for the snowman on the left) can be found on one key of the Artobooking Cartridge.

I actually made THREE different sized snowmen BUT you'll have to wait till tomorrow to see how I used snowman #3 in a project... and it's CUUUTTTEEE!  Love it.

In the meantime... take a peek at my pinspiration...

.Isn't this snowman adorable... I think you can click the photo to go to the website... I do not take credit at all- this was just the inspiration for my snowmen.  As a side note... I added all the punch/ die cut prices I could find and it came to: $80.75 before shipping and tax.  That doesn't include the 3/16 circle or broom.  Those items would likely bring it up to about $100.

If you already own a Cricut- but not the Artbooking cartridge... the $99 would be a GREAT investment when you consider that not only can you create a cute snowman BUT you can make it in a multitude of sizes AND you still have well over 600 other images besides the snowman pieces... just some food for thought if you're in the market for some great die cutting options.

Happy for hexagons!

I am so excited about today's card... it was easy and fun and now I'm set for an upcoming birthday ;)

Supplies used:  Pacifica and Kraft cardstock, hexagon chipboard, stamp pad colors:  pacifica, honey, desert sand, sky
I cut wedges from a sponge to collect ink and sponge it on the chipboard.  Our hexagon chipboard is part of the "irresistible" line.  this means there is a white design embossed on each piece (comes that way!) and when you sponge ink over top the design "pops" out!

I used liquid glass to stick all of the hexagons down for a sturdy hold.  In addition to using liquid glass as an adhesive.. it also works to create a shiny/ glass look on projects.

Stamp set used:  the stamp is from an exclusive set that comes in the Art Philosophy Cricut collection but you could substitute any birthday set.

Once all of my hexagons were adhered... I just trimmed those that overhung the edge.

Completely change the look of this card by sponging in pinks/ purples with a pink glittery background for a girl's card.  How easy is that!

Yes this card was based off some pinterest inspiration and here is the link to the original post it was pinned from... click here.

base and bling birthday

It's so cold in Michigan right now that I haven't even felt like crafting the last few days...now that is cold!

Here's a fun card I made using some retired papers.  Well the green is retired and the word background comes from For Always which retires later this month (unless it runs out first).  I used a retiring red paper flower mixed in with some base and bling metal flowersRuby chevron ribbon with some ruby and olive cardstock.  I also used the Holiday Tags stamp set which is super fun!!
This card was super fun and really easy to make.  I cut the ovals on my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

If you are interested in placing an order... I still have a few of the penguin card kits available (one free for each online order placed...limit of 5 total... I have 3 left)

You can "join" the Mystery Hostess party at checkout and be entered to win all of the rewards!!  Last month's mystery hostess party earned one lucky person $60 free and a half price item!

burlap treat bag

Today's fun project uses our cute little burlap bags, chantilly textiles and some glitter paper.  The fabric around the bag opening was cut with pinking shears (although our fabric NEW in the package is cut like this clear around the perimeter so you could easily make this project without needing pinking shears... but my fabric is well loved and I just had scraps left.  I used some of our sticky strips to adhere the fabric inside the top of the bag.  The fabric was about 1 1/4- 1 1/2 inches wide so I had plenty to show out the top.  I used a sticky circle to make my fabric ruffled circle.  The heart was cut with my cricut out of our black glitter paper.

This would make a cute idea to give to your kids on Valentines... maybe leave on the table the night before so they find it when they wake up.
I will warn you that the burlap in these bags is pretty strong smelling... I highly encourage you to take the bags out of the packaging as soon as they arrive so they can air out and only put "wrapped" food in them!

You can no longer link to the original website... apparently it had been pinned from etsy so I am posting the photo but again this was someone else's project and was my inspiration:

Artbooking "Love"

Hi!  I had so much fun creating this layout.  I used the Close To My Heart Artbooking cartridge.

I am offering this as a KIT to sell.  I am currently waiting for my Ruby mini medley sets to arrive.  Cost:
$12 includes pre-cut papers, diecuts and full package of Ruby Mini-medley
$8 includes the pre-cut papers and diecuts without the Ruby mini medley (This option is ONLY available to anyone purchasing two kits as the Ruby mini-medley is enough for two layouts)

Also included is a color photo of the completed layout with a few hints/ tricks.  I did use a chalk marker around some borders and that work is not included.   We do sell chalk markers for $3.95, which is a great deal!  If you'd like to add that it is an additional $4.50 which includes the minimal shipping and sales tax charges. These kits won't ship until the week of  January 13th (so the mini medley's hopefully arrive).  You will want to reserve yours now though because I'm only assembling 8 kits total.

Shipping will be an additional $4 on any number of kits.

Please e-mail me to reserve your kit... click here to e-mail

Wintry Wishes

Hello!

I am loving today's card (but NOT that is so closely resembles what is happening outside...brrrrr....)

A few details:  This stamp set is called Wintry Wishes and it is only available to those that have parties of $150 or more.  You can use your hostess rewards and the set is $8.  (When you place an order of at least $150 you earn a minimum of $25 in rewards...so plenty of rewards to pick up this set and maybe a few more!)
Products used:  Pacifica, sky and white Daisy cardstock.   Wintry Wishes stamp set.  Pacifica, slate, black inks pads.  Harvest Baker's Twine. metallic markers (for skates)  and Sky alcohol markers(these are currently out of stock).  The "oh happy day" stamp came from Cricut Artiste which is also what I used to cut the banner.

Here is a photo of all of the stamps in Wintry Wishes:  If you LOVE this stamp set and want to host a quick party or place an order yourself of $150 or more- please e-mail me right away!  This stamp is only available through the end of January!  YOU MUST contact me to place a party size order.  Placing an order of that size on my website does not earn you rewards unless you contact me first so I can set up a link to your party!

Good news!  I created FIVE kits to create this card!  I am going to mail one to each of the next 5 people that place an order on my website - click here.  The kits come as shown below and have a little sheet of instructions with a photo of the finished card.  They will mail out within 3 days of you placing your order and when all 5 are spoken for... I will post here.  I don't get TONS of on-line orders so these will probably last a couple of weeks until they are all gone ;)   Also- If you contact me to place a "PARTY" order of $150 or more you will also receive one of these if any remain.

The photo from pinterest is copyrighted so I'm just going to link you to it here.

chalkboard Christmas

OMG... I am so in love with the chalkboard look these days.  I saw a fun one-page Christmas layout on pinterest... but I only scrap in 2-page format.  I haven't printed photos from Christmas yet BUT I did have all the pretty photo-cards hanging on my wall.  So I used a few "as is" and some others I cut up to come up with this:

Here is the photo from pinterest but it didn't lead to any website:

Happy New Year!

Hello!  Just popping in to wish you a FANTASTIC 2014!

Don't you LOVE those cupcake toppers?  I used a variety of stamps with Pacifica ink.  The glittery dots are just some dots made out of our awesome liquid glass, and then prisma glitter sprinkled over top while wet.  I used aluminum foil under the liquid glass and they peeled right off after dry.  The flags are wrapped around toothpicks and the dots are "liquid-glassed" at the top.

The inspiration for these came from here: click here for website.
