Poster Tidings embossed card

Hello!!  It's a new month which means... it's Stamp of the Month Blog hop time.

If you're coming from Kim's blog you're heading in the right direction!!  If you're just starting here... no problem- you'll circle around and find hers at the end.

This month's set is called Poster Tidings and features two stamps in the "subway" style art that is popular right now.

I used the Autumn themed stamp to create my card.
Cardstock:  Autumn Terracotta, black and white Daisy.
Embossing powders: black and gold
inks:  versamark, Crème Brulee, Goldrush, Autumn Terracotta
Embellishments:  Black/grey sparkles,  black glitter trim

I used a sponge to apply the 3 ink colors to the white piece.  Then using clear versamark I inked the stamp and stamped it over the sponged panel.  I embossed in black.
I embossed the edges of the black cardstock with gold... and I actually mixed gold and black embossing powder to emboss the edges of the Autumn Terracotta paper.
This card is sooo much prettier in real life!!

Head on over to Allisa's blog to check out her project!

Don't forget!!!  Our stamp of the month sets are always $17.95 or only $5 with a purchase of $50 or more.  In September you can also add an exclusive Triple Stamp Set for only $10...  So a $50 purchase... and for only $15 more you can have approx. $65.85 worth of stamps!!

You can order through your consultant... or visit my site here.

Artbooking in August... Week #4

Wow... this month FLEW by...  this is the last installment of the Artbooking in August blog hop..  (Watch for the new Stamp of the month blog hop coming next weekend!!)

If you are just hopping over from Shalana's blog- WELCOME.  If you are just joining the hop here on my blog then no problem... the next link in the hop is at the end of this post.

So This week I am supposed to show a mini album.  But... I couldn't think of a theme that made me want to sit and design.  So instead- I started to make a Christmas gift that I'd been planning to create.  I'll be making a few of these but here is the bare bones start to them.  It's not done but at least I had time to print all the calendars and start assembling a few of them.

I used the Clear flip album available in the Fall book.  It is really cool!  There is a space to insert a page behind the clear plastic of the frame.  I cut "2014" from artbooking at 1 1/4 inch (using real dial size).  I just adhered it to some White cardstock so the black glitter letters really pop.

Each month's background paper was cut at 5x6 inches.

The January page uses plain cardstock as the backing... I cut a snowflake border ( Set your machine with these buttons:  Real Dial Size, Fit to length, and  Border)  I cut at 6" and since I chose "fit to length" it made it 6 inches long instead of 6 inches tall.  And yes!  I used glitter paper once again.  I LOVE glitter paper... if this is your 4th week visiting my blog... you've probably figured that out by now.

The little snowflake on the side was popped out from the border.

The October page uses some retired Halloween paper.  The glitter pumpkin was cut out as an extra piece for last weeks project that never got used.  So- instead of wasting it- I used it for my desktop calendar.

Well...  I hope you enjoyed all the projects that were showcased over the last month!  I know I did.

Head on over to Mary's blog to check out her last project too!

Artbooking Week #3

Hello!  welcome back to another week of Artbooking!  Thanks for bearing with my crazy post last week... since many of you e-mailed me to check and make sure everything was ok....  I will write about that at the end of this post...

Now-  If you are coming from Shalana's blog- WELCOME!  If you are just popping on to the hop through my blog- no problem... you'll make your way to hers as you make your way through the hop.

This week I am showing my "random" project.  We were required to make a card, layout and mini album and then the 4th project was our choice and we could show all 4 in any order we chose...

I had more fun with glitter for this weeks project...  I LOVE our glitter paper.

I am starting to think about fall and came up with this cute Halloween themed treat holder.  Right now it's holding a handful of spider rings I found in my closet... (why?  I don't know...lol)

I used the following pages from the cricut book to locate my designs:

I cut the solid pumpkin in black glitter paper at 1.5 inches

I cut the jack-o-lantern from brown glitter paper at 1.5 inches (make sure you use REAL DIAL SIZE ON ALL THE DESIGNS I LIST HERE)

I cut the fence in black glitter paper at 5 1/5 inches long (In addition to pushing REAL DIAL SIZE... you also need to select FIT TO LENGTH.  It ends up being roughly 2.5 inches tall.  I attached the fence to my project and trimmed it where it hung over the edges.)
Cut the " BEWARE" at 1 inch tall in brown glitter paper.

The finished project:  As it gets closer... I'll take the spiders out and fill with candy.  I used liquid glass on the back of every piece so it won't come loose.

I hope you love this project!  Now head on over to Mary's blog to see what she's cooked up this week!

In Other news:

Last week we rushed out of town to be with my Father in law.  We sat by his bedside for 3 days and finally, on Sunday he passed away and suffered no more pain.  It was a terrible loss but we are grateful for the knowledge that his time here was ending.  It allowed us those precious days to be with him and say goodbye.  So for those of you that e-mailed me in response to my posting that I was gone for a family emergency... THANK  YOU!  I read them all but responded to only a few as I had time.

Artbooking in August- week 1

Are you ready to get creative??  Let 40 talented CTMH consultants inspire you with creativity this month.   Each Monday in August, we will be posting artwork created using the brand new CTMH Artbooking Cartridge.

Our challenge was to create 4 different projects using the Cricut Artbooking cartridge and any CTMH paper pack.  ( yes - we all have retired paper packs in our 'stuff' and this cartridge is perfect for using up paper!!)  Our mission was to design each of the following:

1. 2 page layout
2. Card
3. Mini Book4. Home decor or giftable item

If you are stopping by from Shalana's blog- you are headed in the right direction!  If you are just starting the hop here- no problem!  You'll find the link to the next stop at the end of this post.

I decided to start the month by posting my card project!

I couldn't help but play with the Christmas designs and our beautiful glitter paper.

Here are the pages in the cricut booklet I chose to work from:

From the top page I chose the larger overlay at the bottom, and the "merry and bright".  All sizes below are at "real dial size" the overlay was cut from Ruby cardstock at 5".  The "merry and bright" are cut from our brand new green glitter paper (YES!  You CAN use the CTMH glitter papers in your cricut) cut at 1.5 inches.

The reindeer was selected from the second Christmas page.  The deer was cut at 4 inches from black glitter paper.
Other supplies used:  Cotton candy cardstock, red shimmer trim.

Putting it all together:  Green glitter paper cut at 4.25x5.5 was attached to a card base with your typical tape runner AND a few dots of liquid glass in the corners and middle.  I do this because glitter paper is relatively thick and heavy and the liquid glass provides the permanent hold you want from a card.  The cotton candy was just 1/8 inch smaller.  I also used liquid glass in addition to tape runner to stick the cotton candy paper to the green glitter paper.

The Overlay is best attached with a glue pen.  The red shimmer tape is self adhesive and the deer and words were also attached with a glue pen.  this card really went together quite quickly!

Next - head over to Priscilla's blog to see her fun creation!

If you are interested in purchasing any of the supplies I used... you can find them here:
