A new stamp of the month, and a new venture for 2014!

Updated the links 1/3/14

Hello!  I have so much to say ... but since this is the Stamp of the Month post- I'll start there.

This month a whole lot of consultants are joining up to show the new January 2014 stamp of the month set!  If you're coming from Lori's blog- WELCOME... if you're just joining the hop by starting here- now worries... you'll hit the link to the next blog after my artwork  post.

So as usual- our stamp of the month set works like this:  buy it outright for $17.95 , OR earn a discounted rate of only $5 with a purchase of $50 or more.

This month we have a super fantastic card kit special that helps you hit that $50 mark... that info is after my artwork post so keep on reading on (thank you!)

Here is a quick photo of the stamps in the set.  The set is called Crossstitch Wishes.  The two hearts that are outlined in red coordinate with our cricut cartridge ( I think Art Philosophy...)

Here is my quick and simple card:  The "xo" sort of blends in to the business of the paper... but you can still see it and it looked really bad when I stamped it on some of the white border... trust me...I remade this card multiple times...lol.  BUT I do like the overall look and LOVE the fancy paper and embellishments which are all brand new!  Keep reading to learn more about those!
I hope you liked my little sample of the cross-stitch Wishes stamp set.  It's pretty fun to play around with!
Next up- Visit Pamela's blog to see what she's come up with ;)
Next on my list of news:  This photo will be large so the gist is this:  Spend $35 and you can add a GREAT card kit for only $15.  It has an exclusive stamp set and several BRAND NEW products that can't be ordered until February 1st- but with this kit- get them in January!!    If you've been thinking of joining Close To My Heart- NOW IS THE TIME... when you join CTMH in January- you will receive this kit FREE after you place your first $300 in orders.  You have several months to hit that target too.
My last bit of news for today... a NEW VENTURE... yes it's still CTMH related.  For two months I have been planning to make regular updates to my blog in 2014... in fact...my goal is to post at least 5x per week!  yikes... that is  a lot for me.  I needed a REASON to do that much crafting because I'm a seriously busy person.  Soooo...  I bring you:
so what does that mean?  A year of Close To My Heart artwork based on fun pinterest ideas!  There are LOTS of great ideas out there and my goal is to show you how you can recreate them with your Close To My Heart supplies... how fun!!
To start the year out right... here is the inspiration for tonight's Stamp of the Month artwork:
The hearts I used in my card WAY AT THE TOP...  were part of the Cloud 9 card kit promotion for National Papercrafting month... but you could cut your own with any Cricut cartridge that has hearts.
So... I hope you enjoyed this little peek and I can't wait to show you lots more throughout the year!

December "Special Care" stamp of the month

Links updated 12/4

Welcome to a BRAND NEW Stamp of the Month set by Close To My Heart!

If you're coming from Haley's blog you are headed in the right direction.  If you're just joining the hop here... no problem!  the next blog on the hop is linked at the end of this post.

I think this set would be PERFECT for scrapbooking, I just haven't printed photos in a while so I thought I'd give it a try for some Valentine's treats!  ok... I picked all the red and silver covered kisses from the Christmas variety and gave the green wrapped kisses to my kids... but you get the idea!

I paired the set with out fun glitter paper and some ruby ink.  Now... having some Hershey's hugs would have been perfect but... it was an after thought.

This bottom photo shows the stamping with less glare

I hope you enjoyed this little treat idea for the December Stamp of the Month.
Now head on over to see what Maria has created.

Picture My Life- NEW PRODUCT ALERT and a way to earn a set FREE

I am THRILLED to show you a sneak peek of an upcoming line of products and share a way that YOU can earn one FREE!

When you join the Close To My Heart family from November 1st to December 15th and submit qualifying personal sales*, you’ll receive a stunning new product, the Picture My Life™ scrapbooking program - FREE (retail value $24.95)! Select from eight darling themes, from vacation to friendship to childhood - each featuring 122 double-sided cards plus 10 unique Memory Protectors™ to capture it all. Picture it - then capture it!

What is the new Picture My Life™ scrapbooking program?  The eight new Picture My Life™ scrapbooking programs feature themes based on some of our most popular paper packets, plus two brand new paper packets. Each individual program features 122 double-sided, designed cards plus 10 unique Memory Protectors™ to hold creative combinations of these cards and your own photos. You get 44 – 4" × 6" cards (2 each of 22 designs) which come in 14 vertical and 8 horizontal designs. You also get 78 – 3" × 4" cards (3 each of 26 designs) which come in 10 vertical designs and 16 horizontal designs.

What makes the Picture My Life™ scrapbooking program different from other card-style programs on the market?  Our product features unique Close To My Heart designs, specifically with Jeanette’s signature artistic influence. Many card programs are very simple patterns or solid colors, and our product offers a much more thoughtful approach to design, journaling options and prompts, headlines, and layered, graphical, illustrated or distressed style—each of the 8 kits really is a fresh take that is theme-rich and yet extremely versatile, not just color changing the same core designs. Additionally, our cards are printed on our Background and Texture-weight cardstock, heavier than similar programs on the market, which makes them easy to mix and match with coordinating cardstocks or papers. Our 12" × 12" cover page gives you a unique opening page to kick off your album and deliver a finished look, and our Memory Protectors™ remain the same heavy-weight, durable material you’ve come to depend on to protect your photos—absolutely the industry standard!

How is the Picture My Life™ scrapbooking program intended to be used? The product was designed to fill the 10 included Memory Protectors™ following a guideline of 50% photos to 50% cards (which will give you several different card options leftover to give users choice as they create their custom layout.) However, it’s just a fun and versatile product—you can use it any way you wish! If you use a higher ratio of photos, you can purchase additional Memory Protectors™ separately (all styles sold separately as well as part of the scrapbooking program); you can mix and match cards from different programs, and you can absolutely mix Picture My Life™ with classic 12" × 12" layouts, including those from Workshops on the Go™ and coordinating My Reflections™ paper packets. This program is meant to provide you with the ease of scrapbooking life’s moments as they happen. With adorable pre-designed cards featuring unique sentiments, icons, and journaling space, all you have to add is your own photo collection! The several themes can be mixed and matched for more versatility. The prompts on several of the cards will help you creatively journal, and the various assortments of Memory Protectors™ will make your finished products truly unique.

Will the Picture My Life™ scrapbooking program be available for limited or unlimited preview by Consultants in January?  Beginning January 1, 2014, Consultants may preview the Picture My Life™ scrapbooking program with a maximum of two per item number. Note, however, that the FREE Picture My Life™ scrapbooking program earned through this campaign will NOT affect that limit. If a new Consultant qualifies for a free program, they will receive it and still be able to purchase two more at its full retail value if they desire. Also note that it is anticipated that the Picture My Life™ Chantilly program will not be available until February 1.

When will the Picture My Life™ scrapbooking program be available for purchase for both customers and Consultants?  The program will be available for purchase to everyone beginning February 1, 2014, the official release date of the Idea Book.
What is the retail price of a Picture My Life™ scrapbooking program going to be?
Each individual Picture My Life™ scrapbooking program will be available for $24.95.

What are the themes/kits that are available in the Picture My Life™ scrapbooking program?
We have created six individual programs based on some of our most popular paper packets: Later Sk8tr (childhood/sports/boy), Laughing Lola (friendship/teen girls/free spirit), Babycakes (baby/youth/family), Avonlea (family/togetherness/love), Surf’s Up (vacation/travel/outdoors), and Chantilly (childhood/friendship/girl), and two based on brand new paper packets to be released in the February–July 2014 Idea Book.

Will the new Memory Protectors™ styles be available separately, or only as part of the Picture My Life™ scrapbooking program?  The new Memory Protectors™ will be available separately as well! They will come in several styles.
  • Top Load (4110, 10 protectors with a 12" x 12" pocket and a gutter seam, $9.95)

Stamp of the Month blog hop time!

A new month- a new stamp set!

Join us as we show you a large variety of projects using the November stamp of the month...  if you are coming from Beth's blog you're headed in the right direction but if you are just starting here...no worries!!  Click the link at the bottom of this post to move on to the next blog and eventually you should circle back around to mine ;)

Up first... a photo of the set!  The set is called Illuminate and it is CUTE!!
Since I've been in a holiday crafting mood... I took that approach with this stamp set:
I love how my card turned out...  my only complaint is that I should have left the sentiment alone... I stamped it in Juniper pigment ink and it took about 5 layers of ink to be really nice and bright... then I decided I wanted a "little" sparkle and added glue pen dots to add prisma glitter throughout and duh!!  forgot the pigment stays wet longer... so when I added the glitter...lol... well- you can tell it is COVERED.  OOPS.
Supplies:  Silver glitter paper, Ruby cardstock, Sparkle and shine paper pack, Illuminate stamps, Juniper and Ponderosa Pine and Ruby and black  ink pads.  Juniper pigment ink.  Blender pen, watercolor pencil (yellow)
Now head on over to Jen's blog to check out her artwork!

Holiday Card Class and kits

Hello!   I am so excited to share my cards that I created for my upcoming Holiday Card Class.  If you are local to Kalamazoo/ Battle Creek area of Michigan- you can attend this class Saturday November 2nd.  E-mail me here for details.

If you aren't local... I am offering the class by mail!  There are several options to choose from so read on for details!

Kit purchase options are at the bottom...

Card #1: instrument and squares

card #2 Merry Christmas Tree

Card #3 Warm Winter Wishes
 Card #4  Cardinal

Card #5 Flying Santa
Card #6 Noel

Card #7 Sparkle Reindeer

Card #8  May your days...

Card #9 Santa

Card #10 Penguin

Card #11 Polar Beer

Card #12 Holly Jolly

Card #13 Mary

Card #14 Happy Holidays

Card #15 Christmas is love

Want to purchase a kit?  Here is how it works!
There are options for 4 cards-  it will be 4 of the SAME card and you will be offered a chance at checkout to list the card # you would like.  If a card required coloring you have two options- an option where I stamp but do NOT color...and an option where I color.  Because of the added time in assembling your kit it is slightly higher if I color.
***NOTE*** Card #7 Sparkle Reindeer is NOT available as a 4 card kit- if you list that card you will be requested to choose an alternate.

There is also options for 1 each of all 15 cards.  Again, you choose whether you want me to color, or not color any colored images.

Please note that I will make every effort to provide supplies exactly as you see them HOWEVER, I reserve the right to substitute items of equal/similar value if necessary.

Cards #10(penguin) and 15 (Christmas is Love) use liquid applique.  This one item is NOT included.  It needs to be added to the cards last and there is no way to add a small amount to a kit.  I do have these in stock and you can add one for a flat $4 if you wish with no additional shipping and tax charges.

If you have ANY Questions please contact me before purchasing.  All orders received by Nov. 2 will ship November 4th.
Orders received by November 9th will ship by November 12th.  After that point only kits already assembled will be available for purchase and an update to this post will be made accordingly.

As mentioned, you can purchase liquid applique.  Liquid applique is applies with a nozzle tip, allowed to dry, and then heated with a heat gun to "puff up" like snow.  It will require a separate payment but you can click "buy it now" to purchase.

"base and bling" up your holiday gift giving.

If you're starting to think about holiday gifts, consider giving some fun handmade headbands and jewelry to the girls in your life.

The items in the photo are made from our new "Base and Bling" collection plus some of our fun fabrics.

Here's how you can find them:  P.s.  the jewelry and headbands are made from a stainless steel - they aren't the prettiest when you buy them (they are totally meant for covering) BUT they are not reactive with allergies like nickel is!

Scandinavian Wishes

Hello!  Welcome to a new Stamp of the Month set for October!

This month we are showing artwork made with the new Scandinavian Wishes stamp set which retails for $17.95 or ONLY $5 with a purchase of $50 or more!

If you are coming from Maria's blog you are headed in the right direction.  If you are just joining the hop here on my site... no worries- it should circle around if you follow the link at the bottom of this post.

I had fun creating my card:

Supplies:  Chocolate, Cranberry and Sweet Leaf Cardstock, Babycakes Level 2 paper pack, scallop border punch, red glitter trim, mocha pearls, cocoa pigment ink, Cranberry, ponderosa pine and sweet leaf base markers.  I also used green glitz glitter gel.  I used 3-d foam tape to pop the house up, and Art Philosophy to cut the house from Colonial White cardstock.

For the house:  I inked the stamp in cocoa pigment ink, used a blender pen to pick all the ink up off the flowers, heart and tree, and used the markers to add color onto the stamp before stamping the image.

The babycakes polka dot paper actually has sunset (orangey) dots instead of cranberry, but because of the lighter colored heart and flowers it all sort of blends together.

Hope you enjoyed my little peek into my latest crafting endeavor :)  Now head on over to Laurie's blog to see what she came up with!

If you don't have a consultant (or I'm already your consultant ;)  you can head over to my site and shop online to pick up your supplies.
