Fall Favorites

Welcome to this month's Stamp of the Month blog hop!

We are celebrating with the set "Fall Favorites" available September 1-30, 2012.

This is a super fun set and if you've been perusing the art already you are probobly coming from Kami Welter's blog.  If you are just joining in here on my blog- that is ok too!!!  The hop should make a circle so you can continue on by clicking the link at the end of this post.

Ok... so apparently I forgot to take a photo of the set... so... here are my projects.  All of the stamped images are from this set unless noted.

I created this fun layout- I am planning to take a fall photo of the family outdoors... when the leaves fall.  I made a single page because I will frame it and hang it in our home.

Used:  Clementine Level 2, burlap ribbon, sorbet brads, and our fun new alcohol markers.
Here is a close up... you can see there are some parts that aren't colored yet.  There has been a delay in the neutral color markers shipping out- CTMH hasn't received them yet from the manufacturer... once they are in- I will finish my design.  The gold belt and hat ribbon were colored with the new metallic markers.
 More fencing to be colored!
Card was made with all of the same supplies but the sentiment is from the National Stamping Month set available through September 30th.

NOTE:  All images colored with our alcohol markers were first stamped with Black Pigment Ink.  It dries nicely so there is not smearing!

up next is Melissa Laverty's blog- She is fabulous so I am as anxious as you to see what she's created!

On a mission...

I was on a mission to design a Halloween layout for club today...

But on the back of the pretty owl paper in the Moonlight paper  kit is this fabulous green design.

So my halloween layout turned into a Christmas card.

I guess my Halloween layout will wait for another day!

I used the green pattern from the Moonlight paper pack, Slate, Sweet Leaf, Colonial White and Ruby cardstock, Make It From Your Heart pattern book, C1510 Merry and Bright Holiday stamps, Black Pigment mini pad, Sweet Leaf, Ruby, Silver metallic markers, pearl opaques and pink Glitz glitter gel.
I just realized I missed coloring above the ribbon ends...oops.  I will do that after posting ;)

Just a quick shout out to welcome all of my team members this month!!!  You just can't beat a $49 consultant kit that is full of awesome new products!  If you would like to join my team simply visit my site here and choose the "opportunities" link.  If you sign up and decide it is not for you- there are no penalties.  I would love to help you get your business started!

Avonlea layout

I really wanted to finish a layout with actual photos on it for my September class.  I love the special Avonlea Green used in this kit and had the PERFECT photos!
I love when a plan comes together.
I used the Avonlea Workshop On the Go kit which also came with the Parlor Velvet Rub-ons and Mocha pearls.  I added in the Pixie Glitter Alphabet.  So much fun! The colors in the photo aren't the best...  I still need to work on that.

A little tutorial

Hello!!!

As promised in the August 5th post-  I have put together a short little photo tutorial on how I created the little bag in my card class photo.

Click here to see the original bag.

ok.  First of all- once you've chose the color of your bag-  you will need the Close To My Heart Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

When looking at the key pad- these are the buttons you will need:

Choose the card function (button circled in red on left).  And Banner 3 button (button circled in red on right.)

Cut at 3 inches.  You'll have this:

To see easier:  I outlined the middle cut line in blue ink so you can see.  This line is cut with the cricut... because this is a card feature.  Using that middle line- score a line on either side of it at 1/2 inch (yes- in this photo it looks like more than half an inch- I messed it up and realized later.  But for the rest of the measurements I am sharing - you will want to follow the written measurements.

Time
Ok...  Next you need a piece of cardstock cut at 3 and 3/4 inch by 4 1/2 inches.  On the longest side- score in at 1 inch on either side.  In the shorter side score in at 1.5 inches on either side.  You will only cut four short lines as shown.  Do not cut clear down- only cut to the first score line.  Fold along all lines.    Use liquid glass or another strong adhesive to adhere your box together.  The thin middle flaps fold up first and the other flaps go next.  Hold them tight until the adhesive holds.

Time to finish the bag.  Use your strong adhesive to glue the box to the bag base.   You can decorate the front of the bag before or after adding the little box... easier to do at the beginning while your bag is flat- but depending on how you decorate- It might be just as easy to do it last- you decide!

Hope you like this little tutorial.  I learned how to make these at a recent team meeting.  The little box is the perfect size for some candies.  I think I might have to make some halloween versions for teachers and co-workers!

New Product Blog Hop

Hello!  Welcome to a New Product Blog Hop where we show you some of the great new products in the Fall/Winter Close To My Heart Catalog.

If you are coming from Misty's blog- WELCOME... you are heading in the right direction.

I have a few things to show today.

The first is the Avonlea Card Workshop.

Close to My Heart has expanded their Workshop on the Go kits from 8 to 13!!!  woohooo!

These are the cards you'll make when you purchase the Avonlea Card WOTG.  The kit is designed to make 5 each of these 3 designs- So 15 cards total.  It includes some exclusive slate organdy ribbon, slate epoxy bubbles and of course an exclusive stamp set specifically designed and scaled for these cards.

Supplies for this project:
Avonlea Workshop on the Go Card kit
Smokey Plum Ink
Slate Ink
Chocolate Ink
paper trimmer and adhesive.  I used 3-d foam tape on some of my sentiment panels.

Up next are the projects I created for my August club events.
First is a layout using the brand new Clementine WOTG Scrapbooking kit along with  two strips of Lagoon Cardstock.  I used the lagoon, sorbet and saddle ink pads and the Brown/Tan sparkles which are quickly becoming my "go to" embellishment!  I just love the colors more than I can possibly explain.

There is some sorbet baker's twine on here which is from the Paradise collection.  while that collection of bakers twine is not new... the Harvest assortment IS NEW and it contains 10 yards of bakers twine in each of these colors:  Autumn Terracotta, Cranberry, Olive and Outdoor Denim for only $4.95.

Finally,  A set of cards for my August club... you might recognize the two cards from the Fall/Winter catalog.  I just loved them so much I felt compelled to offer them to my customers.  The first card uses the new Cricut Artiste cartridge to cut the tri-fold card with the heart cut-out.  The second uses Art Philosophy for the butterflies and the 3rd item is a little gift bag.  The bag itself was made using our original Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge but it's made using the Clementine paper.and Clementine WOTG stamp set.  Watch for a tutorial this week on how to create the little gift bag.

Stamps:
card 1 uses A1131 Love (set of 1 stamp) $6.95
card 2 uses D1525 Casual Expressions (set of 12 stamps including the "Thank you" shown) $17.95
card 3 uses the stamp set included in G1046 Clementine Workshop on the Go scrapbooking kit $29.95 for the whole kit including all the papers to create some great looking layouts (or do like I did- use it on cards and gift items!)

Cricut:
Art Philosophy *released 2011
Artiest * new

embellishments:
Brown/tan sparkles
antique gold mini medley
Floret Paper shapes
Binder clips

All of these projects are available as kits by mail or as classes you can attend locally (SW Michigan area)  Please e-mail me here for details.
