Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

{edited to update links}
Welcome!!!

The start of a new month brings a new hop!!!

This month we are showcasing Baroque Borders- the August Stamp of the Month for Close To My Heart.

I am so excited to see what all of our other hoppers have created with this set- you are sure to see a TON of new products just in time to purchase them yourself tomorrow!

This month's set has a set of 5 images for $17.95.  Or, snatch this set for only $5 when you purchase another $50 worth of product (not hard to do with a new catalog to shop from!!!)

So- if you are just joining this hop- continue on your merry way - the next blog is listed at the bottom.  If however you are stopping by from Lori's blog- awesome!!  you are a pro and know how to navigate.

on to my art:
ok... so the supply list is really simple:  Clementine Level 2 paper (which is by far... my favorite!)
brown/tan sparkles, Saddle  and Sorbet ink.

The Saddle cardstock has a Leathered look.  You get this look by spraying your paper down with water till dripping wet.  Wad it up and crinkle.  Unfold it and lay it flat to dry.  It really weekens the paper fibers and gives it a super soft feel.  It also exposes some of the white paper core in CTMH paper.  I then inked over the top with Saddle ink.

I've already been told that this card looks way better in person than in my picture... but... well... I don't know how to show you in person so you just get the picture- good or bad.

I cut the stamp design out and popped with 3-d foam tape.  The sentiment is from a set called Casual Expression which is also awesome!

Thanks for stopping by- next up hop on over to see what Sarita has created.

If you are perusing this blog on August 1st or later... please note that we have an awesome special for new consultants.  For only $49 you can join my team and receive about $130 in supplies AND while supplies last CTMH will add a fabulous bag to your kit- valued at $50!!!  Either ask your consultant how to join- or if you don't have a consultant of  your own- I would love to have you join my team here.

A little weekend fun.

My second favorite hobby is baking... yummy!
Here is a super fun cake I made for a 3 year old's birthday.  Everything is edible except batman himself.

Yesterday we took the kids to the Potter Park Zoo... I did something I never do... I left my camera home.  Well- my good camera anyway.  I only had my phone with me.  At convention this year Stacey Julian talked about the importance of memories and scrapbooking what matters most.  Her comment on not needing a layout every single year of your trip to the pumpkin patch really hit home.  We go to a LOT of zoos.  Do I really need a layout of animal photos for every zoo we visit.  No, I really don't.  So I used my phone to snap photos of the kids feeding the birds, and the pony ride.  That's it.  No rhino photos.  No lion photos.  No photos at all except feeding the birds and riding the ponies.  I will save these photos for something else, but for now there will be no zoo layout in the works.  Kind of refreshing.  I will however show you what I have in mind for these photos in a few weeks...  so keep your eyes out.

In the meantime...

if you are in SW Michigan... stop in this Wednesday August 1st from 5:30-7 for a New Idea Book Open House and Retired Items Clearance Sale.

need directions to my home in Kalamazoo County?  Send me a message with where you are coming from and I will give you directions!

New Product Bingo starts at 6:00PM!!!

Stamp Club and product retiring

Today my stamp club met... well- most of them!  The rest come tomorrow.

Here are the projects they chose from to create today.   My group purchases a project kit one month and creates it the next time we meet.  Since we skip June-  these projects were purchased in May.  And if you are wondering.... yes the card at the bottom of this photo is upside down.... oops!!!

The Stella paper is still available during Fall but the fun self adhesive flowers are retiring... NOOOOO!  Get them while you can on my site at www.tracigodbee.ctmh.com - click the shop link and search "bitty buds".  Don't delay- quantities are getting low and they will retire July 31!

The layout was created with the Cruisin' Level 2 paper pack and Stickease foil sticker assortment.  These items are also retiring!  so sad (but the new products are even better!)  Stock up before it is too late!  I also used one of our binder clips.  I had my hubby remove the spring/ pin and split a binder clip into two parts.  This allowed it to lay "flatter" to fit into an album much easier.
While you are at my website- attach your order to my Mystery Hostess party for a chance to win a minimum $25 in Hostess Credit!  Everyone that places an order on my site through the Mystery Hostess party will be entered in a drawing to win all the rewards!

The count is on... T-9 days till the Spring/Summer products retire!
don't delay- shop my site today at:  www.tracigodbee.ctmh.com

More convention art...

The best thing about convention, if I haven't mentioned it yet... is all the great artwork you create!  I have posted several projects but there is even more!

Today's post is of the 2nd 2-page layout we created with Clementine Level 2 paper and our convention limited edition stamp set called Stars Shine Bright.

I took these photos outside and it was quite bright so my photos on the layouts look washed out- in reality they are quite vibrant.

I love how... even though Lagoon cardstock does not come in the kit- they showed us how nicely it combines with the Clementine papers.  I actually received my box of new supplies this week and I made SO MANY projects with my full Clementine paper pack... I am in LOVE!
Watch here August 1st for a giveaway!!

(Supplies Used: Clementine Level 2; Lagoon Cardstock, Stars Shine Bright exclusive stamp set, Houndstooth color ready chipboard alphabet, Slate ink, cocoa ink, Floret Paper shapes flowers, Harvest Assortment Baker's Twine, Antique Gold Mini Medley)

AND... these are photos from our trip to England two years ago so..... I am getting lots of photos scrapped!!! woohoo!

Here is a close up of an embellishment cluster I created for the right page of the layout.

My little guy and Cricut Artiste pre-order!

When we were told we'd need photos for a mini album at convention... I grabbed up a bunch of photos of my son.  I already have a mini album of my daughter.

Here's the photos:
The pages of this album are created with chipboard.  the pages come on a sheet of chipboard that you punch out and the holes for assembly are pre-punched.  Our new Cricut Artiste cartridge cuts the exact shape of each of these chipboard pages.  Just dial the size shown on the chipboard album packaging and cut your choice of paper and walah... a quick and easy album!!!

The items shown on this album are all available as of August 1st.
Paper:  Avonlea Level 2 paper pack
Houndstooth chipboard alphabet
new paper flowers
Autumn Bakers Twine (color I used is Olive)
Chipboard mini album
The Approved stamp set which has images that coordinate with the Cricut Artiste Collection

See the file card and scalloped pages... yes they are all on Artiste.

I love that the Artiste pre-cuts the holes on these designs... putting together this album went really quickly.

As you can see- I have not completed my journaling.  I will look all the photos up and find the dates and fill in my journaling this weekend but wanted to show off this cute album now.
All of my edges are inked with the new Slate ink color.  LOVE IT!

So-  If you are anxious to get your hands on these awesome new products...  Click the link on the right to order your very own copy of the Autumn/Winter Idea Book.  The $5.50 just covers shipping- the book itself is free.    You can also PRE-ORDER the new Cricut Artiste Collection.  The collection is $99 and includes 3 sets of exclusive stamps and 3 sets of chipboard that coordinate with the Artist cartridge images.

To pre-order your Artiste Collection-  you can pay through paypal here:

Bonus!!!  When you pre-order your cartridge- I will pay your sales tax!  This is because sales tax is charged based on your location and since all states and even counties are different- I am not sure how much your sales tax is until I place your order August 1st.  So please know that your state will receive proper sales tax BUT I am paying it for you!  The cartridge is $99 plus shipping.  Please make sure your  address is included when you pay through paypal.

more convention fun

I told you I would show off more convention artwork today... so here I am.  Every year CTMH designs and produces an exclusive stamp set for convention goers that is based on the convention theme.  This year's convention was in Dallas Texas and  the theme was "Stars Shine Bright".  We go a really awesome stamp set that had cowboy boots and hat, some sentiments and frames.  Very fun!

This is one of two 2-page layouts we created with this set.

These were photos taken of my daughter at the Fort Wayne Zoo last year.  I decided not to scrapbook all of the zoo photos because, well, that gets old after 50 trips to the zoo.  Instead I decided to scrapbook just the photos that really captured the exciting aspect of each of my kids day and for my daughter - that was definately the pony ride!

The stamp set used is not for sale... but the papers are definately in the new Fall/Winter book and are part of the Clementine Level 2.  CUTE!!!
The embellishments are from the Antique Gold Mini Medley.

Yesterday I mentioned a New Consultant special for August 1-31, 2012.

Here it is-  When you purchase either of our new consultant kits shown below:

This is the Master kit for $49.

This is the Essentials Kit for $99

And in August- this comes free with either kit (while supplies last).
I received this bag at convention and I LOVE it.  It is nice and sturdy and easily holds my 12x12 layouts.
E-mail me for details on our consultant program here.

You can sign up to join my team any time by clicking here.
