First up... a reminder.  Our Stamp of the Month sets are only available for one month.  They retail for $17.95 but with a purchase of $50 or more... you can purchase them at a steep discount for only $5!

My artwork today was actually made by a great friend of mine!  We had a lot of illness in my house in December including right up to Christmas Eve... geesh.  So credit for this fantastic project goes to my friend Renea.  I put a few items in a ziploc bag with the stamp set and she did a drive by one day and picked it up from my garage... one day I got home and THIS was returned to my garage... FABULOUS!

front of the card- created with a 6x6 Kraft die-cut card and envelope set, color Ready seam binding and slate satin polka dot ribbon, silver glitz glitter gel, stella paper (the heart cut out and the light colored pattern that is stamped with "All My Heart".  Stamped images are of course from the January Stamp of the Month.
close up of the flower image and all the glitz!  Yes... silver glitz on the slate polka dot ribbon.

Inside of the card- Oh yeah- Flirty paper also used on the front and inside!

AND last but not least:  The envelope!  A super cool sparkle flourish and stamped image to tie it all together.    I hope you agree that I am truly spoiled to have such a great friend willing to go to these lengths to lend a hand with my artwork this month!  I would LOVE to be able to share some comments with her so let me know what you think!

Next up- visit Melissa's blog- she always has great artwork!

Costa Rica is calling.....

Hi!  Just popping in from the craziness of the season for a couple of updates:

1)  If you won a prize from my 12 days- they have all been shipped EXCEPT those requiring sparkle flourishes... I have no idea what happened to the stack I ordered ... or thought I ordered... because they weren't on my packing slip....ugh.  I am going to do a quick switch of the milk carton kit and turn it into a Valentine's kit (yoohoo Haley- that is your kit!)  So sorry but it wouldn't be mailed till after Christmas so I'm swapping holidays so it doesn't sit for a year.
Thanks for everyone's patience!  If you won a product (stamp set etc) I ordered those through Close To My Heart last week so it is in their hands to ship it and you will receive them all shortly if not already.

2)  I constantly get asked how I am doing towards my goal of earning the Costa Rica Incentive Trip through Close to My Heart-
here's how:

Goal:  38,000 points by September 30, 2013
Actual:  I have 11,650 points as of December 17, 2012

It is scary to put that in writing because... oh my gosh I might actually do this and earn that trip!!!

So here's the scoop:  I earn 1 point for every $1 in sales.
I earn 500 pts when a new consultant places their first $300 in sales and remains a consultant through Sept. 30.

I earn 2500 pts when a new consultant places $1200 in orders in their first 90 days ( I just had 3 downline reach this level last month!  It IS possible!)

AND... right now there is a bonus incentive!!!  See the last post I published... the Whoo's your Valentine Kit down below...
When I sell 25 kits I earn 500 bonus points
When I sell 50 kits I earn 1500 bonus points
When I sell 75 kits I earn 2500 bonus points.

Of course I would LOVE to reach the 2500 bonus point level but I am shooting for 50 kits and 1500 bonus points.

SOOOO... if you love this kit and are interested in purchasing it - here are the details:  Spend $35 and you can add this kit for only $10!!! yep... that is it.  The kit has a retail value of $40!

Simply go to my website at and click on "shop".  Add $35 worth of items to the cart and the Who's Your Valentine kit will become available.  Add that to your cart!  (please and thank you ;)

BEFORE CHECKING OUT:  Make sure you "join" the Mystery Hostess party ending January 2nd!  Why you ask?  Because one name out of everyone that adds their order to the party will be drawn and the winner will earn ALL of the hostess credit on the party.  Currently- the product earned is $60 in free product and one half price item!! (yes you can choose one of our Cricut collections at half off if you wish!)  I believe that the party will soon reach the $80 free and 2 half price items level!!!  That is a fantastic deal for one lucky person.

BONUS:  If the Mystery Hostess winner has ordered the Who's Your Valentine set... I will also award you with a FREE Workshop on the Go kit of your choice ($29.95 value) when the new Spring/ Summer catalog comes out!!!

So- head on over to and see if there's anything you need!

Whoo's Your Valentine?

I know it seems weird after all of this Christmas posting... and with Christmas a mere 12 days away...eek!  But we are switching gears to Valentine's Day!  At least for today.

Beginning today Close To My Heart has a FUN National Papercrafting Month (in January) special but they always start it early in mid-December.

This year's project kit is a FUN Valentine treat kit.

This "Whoo's Your Valentine" kit contains some new treat tubes and silver glitter paper that will both be in our new Spring/Summer catalog coming out February 1st but you can get them early with this kit.  It also includes 12 die-cut boxes, 3 sheets of cardstock to stamp on, an exclusive stamp set (that is sooo cute!).  It also comes with a picture of how they chose to assemble everything.  Many of their tube toppers were made with the cricut Artiste cartridge but you can easily create some cute designs on your own if you don't have that cartridge.

Here are the details: Spend $35 on product (before shipping and tax) and add this exclusive kit for only $10!  Yep- everything for only $10.  The kit creates 12 great gifts so you are talking under $1 each (before the cost of treats) AND you have a stamp set to keep that is valued at $17.95!!!  So essentially- the part of the kit you are giving away... is FREE!

Limit of one per qualifying order.

BONUS:  place your order at this link (which leads to my website) and join the Mystery Hostess Party that ends January 2nd and your name will be in the drawing to earn the FREE hostess rewards.  My last hostess earned $40 free and one half price item.  (I have had Mystery Hostesses earn as much as $80 free and 2- half price items!)

12 days of Christmas- day 11

Thanks for coming back after a one day hiatus in posting my 12 days of Christmas projects!

Today I have something super fun (I think!).  This Christmas ornament does NOT use Pear and Partridge paper... but it DOES use the Pear and Partridge rub-ons!

Supplies:  Pear and Partridge Rub ons, burlap ribbon, Cranberry bakers twine (from the Harvest Assortment)

I just used a plain clear glass ornament found at nearly any store this time of year.  I cut about a foot of burlap down lenthwise so it was roughly a 1/2 inch wide.  I wrapped it around the top hanger portion of the ornament and liquid glassed it in place.  I tied a bow out of bakers twine and liquid glassed that to the front of the burlap.   The bird is a rub on applied with your standard popsicle stick..  The ornament was filled with crinkled paper gift bag-filler from the party supply aisle of your local walmart/ Meijer/ Target etc.

Win: The Pear and Partridge rub-ons are currently backordered so leave a comment on this post by midnight Saturday night to be entered to win a FREE pack of Pear and Partridge rub-ons!!!  I have one complete set on hand to send out to one person!

Earn:  Spend $40 or more on my site TODAY and I will mail you a FREE roll of Burlap ribbon (valued at $7.95)

Day 8 Wrap UP:  The winner of my layout kit is Casandra B.  Send me a note with your address and I'll get that shipped out Monday! You can e-mail me here  Thanks to everyone for entering!!.

12 days of Christmas - Day 10

Only 2 more days to go!  ****NOTE:  Day 11 will post FRIDAY instead of THURSDAY****

Today's post is a card idea - and yes I am STILL using my Pear and Partridge scraps!
This card also uses a great stamp set called Christmas Love- click here to view all of the images in the set.

I used Cranberry, Cashmere and Olive inks.  I sponged all of my edges with Cashmere and added some of the sparkle flourishes that I've used on other projects.
I did my best to mask parts of the stamp with a post it while inking up other parts- remove the post it before stamping your image.  "the" and "never ends" were stamped in the olive- but it's hard to tell in this photo.

Win: Enter to win this stamp set FREE simply by leaving a comment on THIS POST by midnight Thursday night!  One name from all of the commenters will be drawn and this stamp set will be sent directly to you!

Earn: Place an order of $40 or more through e-mail or on my site TODAY and I will ship this set to you FREE!  The value of this set is nearly 50% of the minimum order requirement- a GREAT deal!  If you place your order on my website and make it a minimum of $50- CTMH will also send you a free glue pen!  That is well over a $20 value of free product for a $50 order (before shipping and tax).  DON'T order the stamp set- I will ship it seperately!  Click here to go to my site to order.

Buy: Purchase the stamp set for $17.95 or the paper pack for $9.95 plus shipping and tax!  Click here to order!  If you order either today- I will send you the sizes to cut your paper to create this card (cream cardstock does not come in this kit but most people have a stash of this color!

Day 7 Wrap Up:  winner of the bracket frame and flourish of choice is Tammy T.  - Thanks so much to everyone that entered... you still have a few days to enter to win!

12 days of Christmas- day 9

Welcome to Day 9!!!

Today's gift idea is a little bit "out of the box" so to speak!

This gift idea was born of necessity.  My daughter is always digging through her backpack looking for her popcorn money and anything else little that she dropped in during the school day.

I designed a super fun little box that is sturdy enough to get dropped into the backpack, is practical and yes- super cute!!!

If you're experienced with Close To My Heart... you'll note that this little box is one of our new craft box organizers.  They come in a pack of 3 for $6.95 and you can click here to see them.

I simply trimmed some leftover paper from the Dotty for You paper kit available last summer (she loves butterflies!) and mod podged it to the lid of the box.  Once dry, I used Black Staz-on ink to stamp her name "Addie" short for "Addison".  I also stamped some little stars/flowers to the sides to dress it up a little.

These boxes are the perfect size for popcorn money, some chocolates and a little chapstick- everything a young girl needs!  Heck... I'd love one for my purse!

you'll notice there is no embellishments- really- you wouldn't want to put any on something like this that will repeatedly get handled and dropped in to bags.  It's better to save that stuff for display items.

If you are curious as to what these little boxes were designed for... click here.  We have a small organizer that holds a particular foam insert that holds these little boxes.  You can store your craft supplies in them... if you can keep from stamping on them long enough!  ;0)

Win:  Leave a comment to enter your name into a drawing to win a 3-pack of craft boxes!  Simply leave your comment by Wednesday at midnight to be entered!

Earn:  Place an order of $25 or more and I will send you a set of 3 boxes as my thank you gift to you.  Valid on orders placed TODAY only!  Either e-mail your order here.... or submit an order on my website.  Keep in mind that when you spend $50 or more on my site before shipping and tax- CTMH will also add a FREE glue pen- any order in December of $50+ qualifies for that special AND the $5 stamp of the month set!

Buy: Buy 3 or more sets of 3 craft boxes and pay only $ 5.50 per set plus shipping and tax!  Today only!

Day 6 Wrap Up:  Winner of the Event Calendar Kit is the Priemer Family!  I am in the process of packaging kits and shipping and all previous winners should be receiving prizes soon!

12 days of Christmas- day 7

Wow- Day 7 already?  This is flying by!

For today I have a super fun gift that anyone would LOVE to receive!  One of our super fun Bracket frames!
This would work for so many themes- I'm planning to put a family photo in the frame.  This is not your typical glass fronted frame- this is more of a shadow box style.  I cut a square of paper to fit in the back and used liquid glass to hold it in place.  There are corner notches where you attach your paper- and no covered front at all.  You can make your design as flat or bulky as you want.  I wish I'd have taken a photo of the back side to demonstrate what I mean but as I type this I am about to leave town till last Sunday so I'll take more photos and add them to this post during the week.

Supplies:  bracket frame
sparkle flourishes
Avonlea Level 2
clear sparkles
Artist Cartridge (for "love" and the 3-d flowers)

Want to win one of these for your very own?

Win:  Leave a comment on this post by Midnight Monday to win a free Bracket Frame and sparkle flourish pack of your choice!  Use your favorite papers and embellishments to create a frame in the theme of your choice!

EARN: Place an order of $50 or more on my website TODAY (Sunday only) and I will send you a free frame and flourish of your choice!  $50 is before shipping and tax is added- take advantage of the great clearance sale on my site right now!  plus if you "join" my Mystery Hostess party you will be entered in the drawing to win all of the hostess rewards on that party!

BUY:  For $14 (plus $4 shipping) you can order this kit!  Kit includes the frame and flourishes of your choice.  You can either order the exact same paper/ letters OR tell me the theme you are planning and give me some color ideas and I will send you photos of my papers- you can pick the paper and coordinating embellishments from my stash.  This class will be taught in my home December 9th- pre-registration REQUIRED ASAP if attending in person.

Winner of my Day 4 giveaway is :  Janet T!!  thanks to all who entered!  Keep posting on day's 5, 6 and 7 until the next winner is announced :)

12 days of Christmas meets Year Round Cheer

{links updated 12/5/12}

Welcome back for Day 6 of the 12 Days of Christmas here on my blog AND the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop... Yep it's a twofer!

If you  are hopping over from Michelle's blog- Welcome!  If you are just stopping by to check out my 12 Days post- you might want to keep hopping through to see the rest of the blogs as the December Stamp of the Month is one of my FAVORITES this fall and you are sure to find some great ideas!

So first up is the Stamp of the MOnth photo:
Don't you love it already?  I do!

So I saw a few other consultants mention using this set on event calendars and thought that was a FANTASTIC idea!  So you'll see in my photos that I used a mix of retired and current papers-  another great project for using scraps!

Here is the shape of an event calendar- in case you are wondering.  The purpose of an event calendar is to record events that happen on the same DATE every year- like birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Halloween etc.  You wouldn't record something like Easter or Thanksgiving as those change each year.  This is such a GREAT gift idea for so many people.  Did a family member move out or get married this year?  College student?  Grandparents?  Help them remember birthdays and special dates by giving them a gentle reminder in the form of a wall calendar.

As you look through my sample page photos below-  you'll note that they are pretty simple.  that is because layers and layers of paper end up pretty thick and bulky and the more embellishments you add... the bulkier it gets.  I love pretty things and lots of embellishments- but this is one instance where there is nothing wrong with taking the simple route.

Now for my monthly designs:

Aren't those fun?
I have a GREAT giveaway for today's post!!
Win: A FREE kit to make this complete Event calendar.  Kit includes the calendar, pre-cut papers and all of the stamped images and any embellishments or glitzed images to match my calendar!  Simply leave a comment to be entered in this drawing!
Earn: Earn an Event Calendar Kit FREE when you make a purchase on my website of $50 or more before shipping and tax- YES this kit will be FREE AND at $50 you also qualify to purchase the Stamp of the Month for only $5.  This sale is valid December 1st ONLY AND starting Dec. 1 at Midnight MST- a new batch of clearance items will be added to my website.  When you spend $50 or more (before shipping and tax) on my website during December- CTMH will include a FREE Bonding Memories Glue Pen.  So- This deal is too good to pass up!  Place your order December 1st and this calendar kit will ship to you!! **Note- you do not need to add this kit to your shopping cart- it will ship seperately from me***
BUY:    Just want a kit?  The kit is $12 (add $3.50 for shipping).  You can create this at my home Sunday December 9th (stop in between 11am-4pm to complete it at your own pace).  RSVP required to take the class at my house but kits can be ordered anytime.
I hope you LOVED this fun gift idea that would work for so many people!
Now hop on over to Melinda's blog to continue on the hop.
Ready to shop-  click here for my site.
Winner of my Day 3 post: Chris C.    Congrats!!!
Keep commenting on Day 4, 5 and 6 for your chances to win!!!

12 days of Christmas - Day 5

Well... I couldn't put it off any longer- I had to do something with TREATS!

This post is really about using up what you have.  Close To My Heart doesn't sell these cute little hinged boxes but I've had this thing in a drawer for about 3 years.  So I of course gave it a little scrub before putting food inside!  I had to take 15 photos of this before I found one remotely acceptable.  It was an aweful angle and pitch black outside the window right next to it... so it's not the best.

I pulled out more of my Pear and Partridge scraps to create the decorative band and "yo-yo" flower.  I create the flowers by cutting a strip of paper (this was about 1x9 inches long).  I accordian fold it lenthwise.  I glue the two ends together to form a cyliner.  Let dry (use a strong adhesive like liquid glass).  Flatten your cylinder out and you are left with a yo-yo style flower (Why didn't I take a picture of the process?  I don't know but I will soon and add it to this post!)

I added some black tulle and a silver shimmer brad for sparkle.  The really fun part was using these pink letters to spell "joy".  I used the self adhesive pink felt Keepsake Alphabet stickers.  I love that little touch to make it a little more festive and fun.

As for the treats:  simply melt some white chocolate.  Dip pretzels and add festive holiday sprinkles before it all dries.  When I was tired of dipping pretzels I tossed in some Craisins to soak up the rest of the chocolate and dried them in lumps.  I also added holiday sprinkles to those.  Next time I'll add some chopped nuts to the Craisin mixture-  yummy!

Today is a bit different in that we don't carry these little boxes in order for me to sell kits so I had to change up my offerings:

Win: Enter to win a blank, undecorated tin just like this one.  I have ONE LEFT!  These are the cute boxes many people use as "nugget tins" where you cover a handful of Hershey Nugget candies with paper and arrange them in tins.

Earn: Place an order of $25 or more on my website today and I will send you your choice of Keepsake alphabet stickers OR the Black Tulle OR the shimmer brads- FREE!  Shop by clicking here.  ( Please note- today is the last day to spend $50 plus add the Stamp of the Month for $5 to get 50% off any stamp set in the book.  Don't miss out!)

DAY 2 WRAP UP: Winner of my Day 2 photo cube kit is Gayle V.  thanks to everyone for playing along- 7 more days to go!

12 Days of Christmas- Day 4

It's not too late to make some handmade decor for this year's Christmas display!

I have for you a very FUN project- a display tray made for hanging!

So EASY!  I would rate this a medium only because it takes some time to lay things out to get an even balance with all the little bits and pieces... but to copy mine is EASY!  seriously.

One thing to note- use GOOD adhesive... really good.  Every single piece on my tray was attached with liquid glass.  This stuff is really a must have and at any given time I have 3-4 open bottles going- so if I misplace one there is surely another close by.  This stuff is great for all sorts of uses- I once repaired the sole of my shoe and got 6 more months out of that pair!  Yep... shoes.

Here is the supply list...
Display Tray
In color Holiday Dimensional Elements
Pear and Partridge paper (surprise!  I used it on many of my holiday projects that I have.. and will... post!)
almond and pink Glitz Glitter gels
Cranberry Bakers Twine
Burlap Ribbon
Liquid Glass

The best part is that each little section only holds a 3x4" piece of paper... which means it only USES the equivalent of ONE sheet of 12x12 paper.    What a great way to use up bits and pieces left from other projects!

12 days of Christmas- day 3

I hope you are enjoying my projects as much as I had fun making them!

Today- I'm showing an alternate use for a recipe box.  I mean- we all LOVE recipe boxes but you really only need one.  These cute little magnetic clasped boxes also hold photos and standard 4.25 x 5.5 inch cards and envelopes.

When I sat down the other day with my blank box in front of me.. I really anticipated a card box.  But I started thinking about all of the people in blogland that don't scrapbook.  I mean- I think it is safe to say that if you are visiting today... you do papercrafting of some sort...right?  But papercrafting in general does not mean scrapbooking specifically.  SO......

I decided to create a "memories" box instead.  In the current age of digital photos and phones that take pictures etc... most people are out capturing their memories in one form or another. This box is a great way to keep track of the memories without investing in albums and a time consuming, paper hoarding hobby.

For todays' project I simply used one of our recipe boxes, covered it with Pear and Partridge paper, some cork alphabet stickers that I covered with silver glitz glitter gel, a shimmer brad (flatten the prongs and attach with liquid glass.

The recipe box is super easy and as long as you have some liquid glass and the template- this is easily a quick project.

Also-  I did sponge my box with Cashmere ink before adding any paper.  The dividers were simply cut 4x6 from cardstock in the Pear and Partridge pack with a little 1x2 coordinating piece folded and stapled for the divider "title"- in this case I used years.
You could easily use this year after year to add your family photo, as well as photos of your tree, favorite new ornament, a photo of the year's most treasured gifts- and yes you can even add your Christmas day recipes!  Who wouldn't LOVE to receive something handmade like this?

Win:  Leave a comment on this post by midnight THURSDAY night to be entered to win a recipe box kit the same as the one shown.  You will receive everything pre-cut ready to assemble.  Kit will ship within one week.

EARN:   Order $40 or more on my website TODAY at and receive a free kit by mail!  Kit will ship within one week.

BUY: For $12 you will receive a recipe box, pre-cut papers (you choose the color scheme and I will send you photos of the papers I have available for that color scheme for you to choose from), you will also receive one sheet of cork alphabet stickers so you can spell whatever you wish.  Add $4 for shipping.  Order 2 or more kits and shipping is free!

I have the recipe box template saved to my computer... if I can find it in an online location I will post the link here.  I will e-mail it to my winner and anyone that buys/earns the kit!

12 days of Christmas- Day 2

Welcome back for day 2 of my 12 Days of Christmas posts where I am sharing some fun holiday gifts, decor and more!

Today's project uses our fun My Creations Block ($3.95) along with some retired Stella paper, black tulle(10 yards for $5.95) and one of our very fun pin clips( 12 for $4.95)  !!! It also uses the black pixie glitter letters to spell "family"   I am planning to use this photo cube to display our family picture once I have one printed.
This would make a very fun gift and can be done in any theme- sports, grandkids, travel etc.  How about an ABC theme for a teacher?  You could use this as a way to package a gift card- just insert the card into the clips and place the whole thing into a cute gift bag.  This would also make a great wedding or new baby keepsake to display a precious photo!

Win: A free kit to create one of these fun photo cubes!  Enter by leaving a comment on this post before midnight on Wednesday.

Earn:  Place an order of $25 or more on my website TODAY and I will send you a free cube kit by mail.  Choose a general color scheme or theme and I will do my best to accomadate!  CLICK HERE TO ORDER

Display Album sample for sale

Hi There-

I just wanted to pop in and let you know that I have been selling a ton of retired items on my Facebook page- but wanted to post this one here as well- it is a GREAT DEAL!

I taught this class last year for $25 as it included the album, paper, sparkles and stickease. But sadly, I never added photos to it and need to clean up some space.

This album uses one of our 6x6 display albums with flip pages.  the cover is completely blank and you can leave it that way or customize it.

I have only the one sample available and will sell for $10 if you live local and want to pick it up- or $15 to ship anywhere in the Continental U.S.

Contact me by e-mail if interested.

Thanks and I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving!!!

CTMH Pear and Partridge

A few weeks ago I held my very first EVER weekend scrap retreat.  OH... It was soooo much fuuuun!

I had a great time spoiling my croppers with over $400 in gifts and prizes (Did I mention I only had 24 croppers?)  Yes... that is a lot of free stuff!  One lucky attendee won the Cricut Artiste Collection and I did NOT sell tickets for it.  Every weekend retreater got their name in one time.

I taught many classes that weekend and here is one of them:  15 cards for $25.  The fee included the Perfect Fit-Holiday stamp set, half a pack of Pear and Partridge Level 2, plus Colonial White cards and bases, embellishments, extra Cranberry and Olive paper etc.

The cards were a hit!
It is hard to tell but the middle card has a lot of pink and bronze glitz glitter gel.
If you would like to order any of these supplies to create your very own cards- please visit my site here:
If you purchase any of these supplies through my site and want to make any of the cards shown- just send me an e-mail and I will send the measurements to you.
The green bow was cut with Cricut Artiste.
P.S.  My next weekend retreat is April 12-14, 2013 in SW Michigan- live near?  Drop me a line and I'll forward the information to you!!!
