July Stamp of the Month Blog Hop- Happy Forever!

Welcome to the July Blog Hop featuring the new Stamp of the Month for July1-31; Happy Forever.

If you've arrived from Jody's blog... you're going in the right direction... the next link is at the bottom of this post.

Oh My Gosh... I love this stamp set!!  I am as excited as you are to see all the awesome ideas this month!!
I literally used this set with 3 different paper packs so far because there are endless ideas roaming through my head!!  Today I'll show 2 of my cards and I'll save the 3rd for another post this month!

first:  The Stamps.  Seriously?  How cute are these?  This fun set can be yours for $22.95.  As always, however, you can earn them discounted or FREE!  CTMH always offers our Stamp of the Month sets as follows:
Full Price: $22.95
Spend $25 get the SOTM at 25% off
Spend $50 get the SOTM at 50% off
Spend $75 get the SOTM at 75% off
Spend $100 get the SOTM FREE!!!

Now- on to my artwork:

This first one uses the Topstitch paper pack.  I used both the Happy Forever, and the Togetherness Stamp Sets.  Blush and Chocolate ink pads, Chocolate and Heavenly Blut markers, white daisy just blooms and some buttons in Blush and Crystal Blue.
{after posting it... I realize that you may not be able to tell that the kite is Heavenly Blue to match the paper... but it is!}

The Second card uses one of our Clear Card Bases (scalloped) along with the Splendor Paper pack.  This time my hedgehog is colored with Bamboo and Desert Sand markers.  My cloud paper is edged with Desert Sand.  I also used a Tulip button and Tulip marker on the kite because I think Tulip is awesome with the Splendor paper pack colors.  The button is paired with retired Seafoam organdy ribbon and the Colonial White Waxy Flax.

On the inside of my card- you can see the little kite poking out- but it doesn't bother me-  The Goldrush circle has my sentiment so you can sign the card on the cloud paper under where the Goldrush circle will hide it. Everything is adhered with Tombow Vellum Adhesive- it does show slightly but not as much as regular adhesive shows.

Hope you enjoyed my little peaks at this fun new LIMITED stamp set- get yours here while you can.

Now- check out Andrea's artwork!!

Leave a comment... they make me "Happy Forever" lol....

Foto Friday...

Hi there!  How about another installment of Foto Friday- I'll even give you a break from my gardens for this week and show you a few photos from a recent day trip we took.  Last Sunday we celebrated Father's Day by going to Michigan City, Indiana.

It's a cute little town on Lake Michigan.  We've been there before but not since Addie was about 10 months old and she's nearly 6!

We started the day with a picnic lunch and then headed to the zoo.  They had some fun animals!  It's just a little zoo but we enjoyed it!  Plus dad's got in FREE for Father's day and the little guy was free for being under 2.  So all in all- an inexpensive day.

I love the cute monkey!  He was eating a peach.

I love turtles... not so sure about his food..
I used the "museum" setting on my camera to take this lizard photo through glass.
Addie got to feed a whole slew of parakeets with bird seed on a stick.
After the zoo- we headed to the beach.  It was in the same park (Washington Park)  The water in the lake was surprisingly warm!

For sale...

Hi There- I was planning to do a craft show last weekend but it was outdoors and a little humid... humidity and paper down't mix well!  So I opted not to go and now I have a few things I want to sell... I am thinking of opening an etsy account but until then- I'll post this:

I showed this layout a while ago and made up 4 kits.  The kits include- 2- 12x12 Sweet Leaf base pages, 1- 12x12 Brown Bag cardstock to cut for your photo mats (obviously mine in my sample layout are pre-cut but this way you can use any size photos.  Mine are cut to 4 1/4 x 6 1/4.  All the other papers (red hearts etc) are pre-cut.  Also includes all pre-cut, pre-assembled, pre-glittered die cut embellishments- ready to attach to your layout.  Includes white and pink-dyed blooms, an assortment of glitter brads (colors may vary from those shown and may include Sweet Leaf, Hollyhock and / or Tulip).  Includes 1 sheet of white alphabet stickers.  Mine are sponged with Lilac Mist.  Yours will arrive white and can either be used white or sponged to coordinate.  Also includes 1/4 package of Bitty Sparkles.
NOT INCLUDED:  adhesive or stamping.  I stamped in my title and on the heart tag but that will not be completed on yours so that you can customize your page.

The kit also comes with a color photo of the completed layout and some basic info..

Cost:  $12 for the kit and $5.50 for shipping.  I take paypal, propay and check by mail.
For paypal and propay - I will ship within 4-5 days ( may be sooner but that is the latest... my local post office has odd hours and so I usually take my packages into town).  For check payments- I will wait 1.5 weeks to make sure they clear the bank (unless I know you and you've paid by check in the past)

This layout is limited to 5 total kits including my sample layout!  I won't be making any more as the die cuts were quite time consuming- so once the 4 kits are sold- They will be gone :)
To purchase this kit- Contact me here.

** Note-  All materials in this kit are Close To My Heart products (heart paper is from the Animal Cookies Level 2 kit)  All die cuts are cut with my Cricut using CTMH cardstock.

Teacher gift

I promised a photo of the teacher gift I'd put together... well- I have a photo -but only of the inside.  I totally forgot to take a photo of the outside after it was all decorated.  Oh well.

Basically I made a note card kit.  I used the CTMH Memory Keeper box and used cardstock to create inserts to divide the box.  One long section on the left for notecards and envelopes.  The right is split in half and holds the apple notecards (made out of cardstock with my Cricut and the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.  The bottom section holds the stamp I ordered that says "A note from Mrs. Graham and a brand new Topiary stamp pad.

Here's a close up of the apple cards.  They are layered- but don't open- they are meant to just write a quick note on to maybe send home in the back pack.  Or to write herself a reminder etc.  In addition to this we also gave her a gift card so she could buy a little something for herself.                                                          I'm so glad I took the time to make her a gift.  She gave each of the Young 5 kids a photo collage of photos she'd taken throughout the year- so photos of the classmates together and then some of just Addison alone.  It was so nice and will be a great addition to Addie's scrapbook!
On a side note-  July is fast approaching and that means Jackpot June is nearing the end- have you checked out Jackpot June yet?  Until 10am EST today- the special is a Goody Box valued at $200 for only $80!!  At 11am EST a new deal will be released so check it out here!  The link is to the front page of my website (go ahead and bookmark it so you can check the deals each day!) You'll find the special under "shop online" and "jackpot June"

Foto Friday...

This week I have more photos from my gardens... which is good because I haven't loaded any new crafty photos to my computer yet.

I always put my pansies in pots because they don't really like hot, humid weather that we are starting to get.  They'll shrivel up soon- no matter how much I water them.  I planted them back in March since they like cool weather and will yank them out soon and replace them with some other annuals I've picked up.  For now they are still pretty though.

Wave petunias... they are spilling out from a tipped over whisky barrel... if I think of it I'll take a photo of the whole thing one of these days..

I love me some lillies!!  All kinds of bright colors too!  The orange is one of my favorites.

Can't forget Mr. Squirrel...  He lives in the oak tree... close to the acorns.

a few more bookmarks...

If you scroll a couple of posts down you'll find the bookmarks I recently posted.  Well- some cleaning in my basement provided a few other products to use to build up my bookmark stash for the upcoming craft show.  Here are a few of them.  The plastic bookmarks are a retired Close To my Heart item while the silver filigree brads are a past Stampin' Up purchase.  I've almost completely used up the package of felt flowers- so I'm happy about that!!
I know that I mentioned I'd show misc. photos on Friday... but I had to post these- they make me giggle!!
The photos aren't super clear (sorta look like vellum sitting on top) but that's because I had to take them through my living room windows.  There was no way to get outside without disturbing the crows so I just took them through glass.
Don't they look like they are carrying on a conversation.

And now he's done...

Studio J- Splash Zone

Note:  This is the second post for today... scroll down to see the first.

I haven't had time to do much scrapbooking lately so I decided to pop on Studio J and see what new papers have been added since last time I was on... They have an AWESOME new kit called Splash Zone.  Ahhh... I'm in love!!  Here's a quick layout I designed using this kit.  These are photos I took while visiting family friends in Hastings, MI last year.  My daughter is a water lover so she loved splashing in the lake.  It was also the first time the kids had been on a boat ride.
What I love most about this pack is the colors... so much fun!! I love bright colors and these are perfect... The colors are:  Ocean, Moonstruck, Hollyhock and Sunflower along with White Daisy. The following are stickers from the kit:  The splashy waves under the title of the main photo on the left page... and the 2 half circles and sunshine style yellow circle on the right page (upper left corner on right page)  Those half circles were whole circles that I digitally clipped for effect (which is why they are not perfect half circles... because I eyeballed it :)  But I LOVE this layout!!!  I need to sit down and work with this paper kit some more... I can't wait to get back into Studio J when I have time!!
Have you tried it yet?  If not- this link will take you there.  Don't worry- there's nothing to download and no payment required to just try it out... You only pay if you design something you'd like to order.
The cost is only $12.95 for a 2 page layout (yes- BOTH pages!!)  You'll receive 5 free page protectors with every 5 2-page spreads ordered on one purchase... and fREE shipping when you order 10 or more 2-page layouts!! Awesome deal and worth every penny...
These are not just merely printed- CTMH employs silver hallide processing providing you with 100 year archival quality!  The colors are extremely vibrant and beautiful- so why delay- give it a try for yourself!

Fun with Felt

As I mentioned a few posts ago (my bookmark post)  I am in the process of cleaning out my scrap area and have been making up a lot of things to sell at an upcoming craft show.  I LOVE our felt and don't have a lot of time to sit and just play... so the other day I pulled out and came up with a few embellishment ideas.  I'm packaging these up and selling them at the craft show.

Photo of Close To My Heart's diecut felt (Heartfelt Whimsy):

And a few examples of my jazzed up embellishments:
I edged all of them with Chocolate ink, added some bitty brads and the butterfly's yellow parts are all sparkly with glitz stardust  On the flower leaf-  I used a piercing tool to break some of the felt fibers down to get the leaf to bend.  I snipped out some felt on the green birds tail feathers.  I'd love to hear what you think of my felt embellishments-  If you saw these at a craft show- would you be tempted to purchase?

Foto Friday...

I love to take photos- don't have a fancy camera but I do love the one I have (Nikon Coolpix L100) and am always practicing with it.  I have an overabundance of misc. photos and thought I'd share them on Fridays...

Here are some photos of some of my flowers in bloom that i've taken over the last week or so:
Photo #1- Marigold
Photo #2- Potentilla bush with a fly :)
Photos #3 & 4 are both roses... from the same plant...  Not quite sure what happened there-  8 years ago when I moved in all the roses on the plant were shaped like photo 3 with the color from photo 4.. Starting last year blooms looking like the photos shown  started to periodically appear and now this year... about 50:50...  Must have been a grafted plant and the two halves now look like the original parents...so odd!  I've never had that happen- but it's funny because it looks like I have two rose bushes planted side by side...

And lastly- Here's a face shot of my fairie statue in my flower bed..  she sits between all my daylilies.

Hope you enjoyed this little look in my gardens today... I'll show some more photos next Friday!

Teacher Thank You

My daughter is winding down her first year of school (Young 5's).  I really think her teacher is sooo great and there are many adults in the school that I have a great appreciation for.  Addie is only in Young 5's for half a day and due to location logistics she spends the rest of the day in wrap around care until I can pick her up after work.  While it's not always fun for her to spend so much time at the school... they do FUN things with her and she now knows every teacher in the school.  I am working on some gifts for the really special people and will show those later but for now here's the card I designed for her teacher, the woman who does wrap around care, and the music teacher.  I'm also working on a similar but very slightly different card for the school secretary who is sooo sweet!!  She has lunch with Addie sometimes.

This card was quite a bit of fun. The basic layout idea came from Kelly's blog.  All supplies are from Close To My Heart except my Cricut which I used to cut out the apples (Plantin Schoolbook cartridge)  Papers:  Animal Cookies Level 2, Cherry-o Level 2, Zippidee Level 2.  Inks:  Chocolate for edge distressing and Tulip; White Ricrac, Thanks stamp set.  When I get the gifts done- I'll be sure to show those too... School ends Tuesday the 15th so I'll probobly finish them over the weekend.                                                                                 Have you been checking out the Jackpot June specials on my website at http://www.tracigodbee.myctmh.com/?  There's been some great deals!  I took advantage of a sale on chipboard yesterday- and currently there's a goody box special- $120 worth of product for only $60!!

bookmarks

I'm doing a craft show in a few weeks and decided that I would go through my HOARDS of supplies and see what I could make.

I have some cards made already so when I came across the Felt flowers I'd purchased from Stampin' Up YEARS ago (all in the original, sealed, packaging- never even opened for crying out loud!) I thought I'd try some bookmarks using Jumbo paper clips.  The only Jumbo clips I could find at Target were colored and I wasn't sure about the colors... but they actually match really well!

You can see that I used a variety of felt combinations with pewter, and colonial white brads and a couple even had buttons.  Liquid glues just soak through felt so I used a bunch of glue dots on each one and they are really strong.  I tried to pull the completed bookmarks apart to see how well they held up- and you have to put a LOT of force into it to even get the glue dots to budge a little...

I made 14 of these and took them to work - a co-worker took one home to show his wife and she bought 10... good thing I only used a portion of the felt in that package because I need to get cranking and make some more!!

These would make a great addition to a Barnes and Noble gift card at Christmas , Birthday etc!
