Busy, Busy week!

Wowzers!! What a busy week! Last weekend we emptied out my daughter's room, ripped out the trim and replaced it with new oak trim... the contents of her room are STILL in my living room (other than her bed and dresser) awaiting new carpet which will be installed next Tuesday... that's also the day her new "big girl bed" arrives... Tonight I have a home gathering at a friend's house not too far away and tomorrow the family travels across state to my cousin's wedding. Saturday I'm teaching a scrapbook workshop to 6 of my friend's/ customers.

Sunday I may be teaching a Make a Plate workshop but I can't reach that hostess so I'm not sure if that one will happen or not... CRAZY! lot's going on...

I thought I'd pop on real quick this morning and post a card I designed over a month ago... mostly because I don't have photos of the newest artwork yet but hopefully after this week things will slow down a bit!! I need a break :)
This card was fun to make- I really like the Gloria stamp set by CTMH but did not want to color the whole thing so I colored the angel and just some designs around the edge.

To color I used the blending pen and picked up the color from the ink pads. Colors used: Ponderosa Pine, Tulip, Sunflower, grey flannel (wings)

Paper: Pon. Pine cardstock, stripe is from Perfect Day, Colonial White cs, cocoa (or chocolate?) grosgrain ribbon, markers, smallest clear circle sparkles (hard to see but these are on the tiny two circles at the top and the 2 at the bottom to add some bling :)
Have a great weekend- It'll be a busy one for me :)

Winter flurries...

well... i meant to post last weekend but it was so beautiful out and weather like that in October.. in Michigan- well- you just can't stay cooped up... it won't be long before snow starts falling so we decided to enjoy the weather while it lasted. Good thing because it's been a bit cooler the rest of the week.

Here's a card that I designed for a September class- I finally took a picture of it so that I could post.
(Supplies: Good Times Paper Pack, Colonial White Textured Cardstock, Twilight, Chocolate and Sweet Leaf Inks, pewter bitty brads, spray bottle with water, Feathery Flakes Stamp Set)
The only explanation needed is that after inkin a snowflake I misted it with water to give it a more "watery" look compared to the crisp look given without pre-spraying the image.
Have a great weekend!! I have club tomorrow and will show some of those projects when I get a chance to take photos!

a huge thank you...

for checking in on my blog!! I've been out of the blogging universe the last several weeks as I have not been feeling well. I do think though that my old self is creeping back in and thankfully my energy levels are back up...
This past weekend I attended a weekend retreat that I go to each fall. Typically I create 30-35 pages from scratch in the weekend. This weekend- 14!! The worst part is that 8 of the pages were pre-made layouts that only needed photos!! HORRIBLE!! I did manage to make a couple of cards and some layouts for an upcoming class in two weeks. Today I'll show you 2 of the 4- 2 page layouts that the attendees will be making. Each person will receive a half pack of the Magic Moments Kit and a half pack of the Enchanted Kit- all by Close To My Heart. Whatever paper isn't used in the layouts- they take home with them!! I also pre-cut all of the paper since the class usually takes about 3 hours as it is- It would take forever if they cut it themselves!! yikes.

Anyway- Here are the two layouts made with the Magic Moments kit- both have a fall theme but really could be used for anything. I'll take a few "fall" stamp sets including an awesome Thanksgiving set and one with some leaves in case they want a few more images... but i left my samples fairly generic in case they totally want to change these to birthday layouts or whatever else they can dream up!! I like to give them options so that I know they'll be making pages they will use!

I think my picture is sorta crooked but you get the idea. This paper just screams fall to me with the dark brown, sunflower, green, blue and hollyhock. The circles at the bottom of the left page and top of the right page are perfect journaling spots. The alphabet set is the Friendship Alphabet that was available in September only to customers with a minimum purchase. Through the end of December it's an option only to hostesses with a party of $350 or more. I thought I'd go ahead and use it since I really like the font.

I have found that even my customers with only boys will use layouts with pink if it's a "generic" layout. So a fall layout with family photos would be a great use. This layout would also work well for a woman's birthday!!

Here's a Thanksgiving layout using the same paper pack... but highlighting the blue color (Indian Corn Blue) What I really like about this layout is the photo options. For instance- the left side will hold 1- 8x10, 2- 5x7's trimmed slightly, 2- 4x6 or 4 small square photos. You can easily print the size photos needed for how ever many you'll need space for on the page. The circles to the left are for journaling or for stamping images. The top circle has an arrow clip which is perfect for journaling on the circle that will point to a photo..
The right side has about 5 circles on the bottom- 3 stamped with "love", "family" and "friends" with 2 empty blanks to add in things/ people you are thankful for... or leave the circles off and have room for more photos... or just use those circles to journal the event(s) in the photo..
Another great use for either layout is a Family Reunion!! The possibilities with these are endless which is why I really love this paper pack!!
I'll try to be back tomorrow with the Halloween Layouts- but I have a recipe club swap tomorrow night at my friend's house so it may not get posted till the weekend- but I do expect to be back several times a week- posting artwork again!! Thanks for waiting it out with me :)
